Well folks, you'll never guess who doesn't work at the Orem Supercuts anymore. Yep, its me. I know I know, you're probably thinking, "wait a minute, WHAT?! you LOVE working there?! What's going on?!" Well, I'll tell ya. Last Monday, the Area Supervisor had offered me the Manager position at the Provo store. She went on to say how I have excellent customer service and technique and blah blah blah (bunch of stuff that actually made me feel real good) and anyway, said that she'd think I'd make a really great manager there if I was interested. So, I called her back and told her I was interested but thinking about it and that I'd let her know when she called to find out the next day. The rest of the day I was a complete wreck!! You know how you thought I loved working at the Orem store? Well, that is true! I have made really great friends there, and its a busier store so I get a lot of customers coming in AND I've belt up a pretty good clientele! The rest of the night my decision probably went back and forth at least 7 times. I decided I didn't want to take it because I have so much fun in Orem and that's where I'd be most happy. Then I decided I should take the Manager position because it's a great learning experience and a pay raise. Back and forth I went. Finally that night I talked to my manager Sydney and she helped me break down all the pros and cons and helped me really see clearly what would be a good choice. (She is an awesome manager by the way. She's one of the reason's I didn't want to leave!) Anyway, the next morning I had some time before work, so I went to the Temple, and I felt very good with the decision to be made manager at the Provo store.
The call came on Tuesday and I told the Area Supervisor that I would love the opportunity to be Manager. And there it was... it was final! The rest of the week Syd tried to train me as much as she could on how to do the schedules and ordering and she went over paperwork she has to fill out every week and a bunch of manager type stuff. Then, Saturday came and it was my last day there. Just like that, I was being kicked out. And let me tell ya what! Saturday, when it came time for me to walk out those doors and go home, I wanted to cry!!! I love it there and it was my last day. Buuuuuuuuut enough about how sad it is, I am also VERY excited to be the new manager. There are a lot of responsibilities that come with it, and I'm really excited to take em all on! I've never been manager before, and I'm really excited to learn and grow in that way. ANNND I'm sure I'll make good friends there too! So it's going to be an awesome experience and I'm gonna love it! AND on the plus side! Before it was hard to do stuff outside of work with my friends from Orem because if you got the night off, that meant that one of them was working it. so nowwwwww we could get together a lot more often because if we wanted to plan something, we can match schedules to be off the same night! HA! That's glorious news huh?! Yes yes. Managing the Provo store is going to be a lot of fun and awesome, not to mention only 5 minutes from my house. booya!!! As much as I'm going to miss the Orem store, I'm really excited for this new adventure. From now on, just call me "Manager Janiece!"
